Getting back to sport gently after an injury
Physiotherapy is over, but you don't dare go it alone. That's exactly where we step in: between rehab and the return to active life, with a coach who understands your body and your concerns.
The challenges of post-injury recovery
Getting back to sport after an injury isn't simply about moving again. It means facing physical and psychological hurdles that shouldn't be underestimated.
Fear of relapse
After weeks of immobilisation and pain, the body has memorised the trauma. Every movement can revive a fear. That fear is normal, and it's worked through gradually.
Residual pain
The injury is healed on paper, but the body holds tension, stiffness and sensitive areas. Adapted coaching distinguishes normal pain from warning pain, and adjusts in real time.
Lost bearings
You had a level, habits, confidence. The injury reset everything. Accepting to start lower is perhaps the hardest challenge. We're here to help you rise to it.
Our 4-step approach
A structured, personalised protocol to bring you back to physical activity in full confidence.
1. Comprehensive assessment
We analyse your injury, medical history and reports from your physio or surgeon. We identify fragile zones, established compensations and realistic short and medium-term goals.
2. Re-mobilisation
The first sessions focus on gentle re-mobilisation. We re-teach the body to move without fear. Limited range, no load, slow tempo. The goal: rebuild confidence in movement.
3. Progressive strengthening
Session by session, we increase loads, ranges and durations. Always listening to your sensations. Each milestone is validated before moving on. Nothing is forced.
4. Recovered autonomy
When you feel able to resume independent activity, we remain available for occasional follow-up sessions. The ultimate goal: that you no longer need us.
Types of injuries we support
We have experience supporting recovery from many types of trauma. Here are the situations we most often help with.
Fractures
Wrist, hip, ankle, vertebra. After consolidation and physio rehab, we strengthen the weakened area and rebuild confidence in everyday movements.
Sprains and ligaments
Ankle, knee (ACL, PCL). Proprioception is the key to recovery after a sprain. We propose balance and stability work to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Muscle tears
Hamstrings, calf, quadriceps. After healing, the muscle needs to be reactivated progressively. We work on eccentric strength and flexibility to avoid relapse.
Orthopaedic surgery
Hip or knee replacement, arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction. Post-surgery recovery requires a precise protocol. We respect healing times and the surgeon's instructions.
Coordination with your healthcare professionals
We never work alone. Post-injury recovery is teamwork between you, your doctor, your physio and your coach.
GP
We ask for medical clearance before starting. If needed, we communicate with your doctor about precautions to take.
Physiotherapist
We work alongside physiotherapy, never as a replacement. The physio treats; we consolidate and help you progress.
Surgeon / specialist
For post-surgery recovery, we strictly follow the protocols and timelines set out by your surgeon.
